HIGHVOLT Prüftechnik Dresden GmbH is a global leader in designing and manufacturing of high voltage and high current test systems and measurement equipment for mobile as well as stationary applications with an export share of about 90 percent. At the factory in Dresden/Germany, HIGHVOLT develops and manufactures tailor-made as well as individually designed systems for testing electric power equipment contributing our expertise and over 100 years of experience. HIGHVOLT provides complete solutions including consulting and maintenance services from entire test bays right down to individual components. The product range includes advanced solutions for factory and on-site testing on medium, high and extra-high voltage cables, power transformers, gas insulated switchgear, surge arresters and systems for training purposes. Additionally, we also offer complete service care, training courses and consulting services for planning, setting up and operating test systems.

HV & HC test systems for medium voltage up to ultra high voltage applications:

Transformer test system

The fully automated transformer test system is able to perform routine and special tests according to IEC 60076 parts 1 to 3. The test system is based on frequency converter technology and carries out tests implementing a very precise waveform as well as a low PD noise level. The test system is maintenance-free. Additionally, it has minimal installation requirements and low lifecycle costs. Furthermore, the modular design of the test system allows future expansions.

Impulse test systems generate high artificial impulse voltages that model transient overvoltage wave shapes like e.g. lightning strokes or switching overvoltages occurring in the power grid. Main applications for lightning impulse voltages are routine tests for power transformers, bushings and surge arresters as well as sample tests or type tests on medium or high voltage cables or GIS. All test procedures are in accordance with the relevant IEC and IEEE standards.

For testing of SF6 insulated assets like GIS or GIL, HIGHVOLT’s product portfolio offers adequate test systems for dielectric withstand voltage test and PD measurement. Depending on the application and test requirements either small sized test systems with SF6-insulation for direct connection to the test object or oil to SF6 / air insulated test systems for heavy duty operation are available. Furthermore, the test systems can be designed for mobile application and frequent transportation.
