Products & Services
EES offers products in the field of switchgear monitoring and fault annunciating ranging from simple devices with predefined settings up to a networkable systems with IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-104 multilink structures. Setting into operation and adjusting to parameters on site, DIP switches and easy of use browser based software are provided. Hereby standardized reporting procedures acc. to DIN 19235 or ISA, as well as individual sequences can be realized. Drop flap functionality suits the demand for displaying last states of a facility. Supervision relays monitor voltagelevels, as well as phase failures in networks. Moreover EES multiplexer systems convince by universal applicability, simple handling and low installation costs. The systems are compact and have high interference resistance for transmission of digital and analog I/O’s up to 20 Kilometers over arbitrary control lines or wireless. For reliable transmission and evaluation of the data telegrams secured protocols are used.
USM – Panel-mounted fault annunciator
The networkable annunciators of the series USM provide the functionality and flexibility of the series BSM and add communication interfaces for connection to superior or inferior systems. The new version 4.4 of the USM fault annunciator allows increased flexibility with 4 function inputs and 2 horn functions.
Support for network addresses in IPv6 has also been added and RS232/RS485 switching for the serial interface has been included as standard. Through the Modbus protocol information or states can be exchanged and through IEC 60870-5-101/104 and IEC 61850 single and double alarms can be transmitted e.g. to a SCADA system and single and double commands can be received in the opposite direction and issued from the annunciator. In addition, analog inputs enable the monitoring of limit values. Our cost-free available EPLAN macros facilitate the creation of circuit diagrams and a smart parameterisation concept ensures that the installation and commissioning of the interfaces is easier than ever!
Integrated event recorder
Simply display alarm information via web server
8-48 alarms are processed in compact housing sizes at various different voltage levels with adjustable response delays per channel. Now they can also be registered and archived accordingly in the free event recorder. The high-performance event recorder can be displayed in the web server and includes the storage of information and occurring errors via the device (Syslog) as well as the storage of incoming and outgoing alarms. The alarm memory comprises 100,000 alarms and is designed as a ring buffer. Downloading the data for further processing in Excel is also possible. With the help of various filter options, the alarms in focus can be addressed individually or a download can be performed.
Even better IT security
Upgrade also available for older versions
With regard to IT security, further new technical possibilities were used to enable an even more secure operation of the USM in the network. These include improved user administration with extended configuration options as well as an upgrade and downgrade option for versions. This also makes it possible to import old versions from previous firmware versions, which was not previously possible in this way. Attack vectors have been further eliminated through a comprehensive "security by design" process.
The new USMs are all shipped with the new version. In addition, EES offers the possibility to bring older versions to the current 4.0 status through an upgrade. This means that old systems will also receive an up-to-date IT security standard, including the new features.
This also applies to all of the WAP-K annunciators. The USM / WAP-K fault annunciator family by EES offers the reliability and security for the tasks in substations and plants in distribution and transport networks, now and in the future.
New version of the indication module LAB 2.0
EES has launched a new generation of the proven LAB series, the LAB 2.0. The new generation turns the previously available variants upside down and concentrates them in one display module. Thereby the number of different sizes increases, which are now not only available in 8 or 16 channels, but also in 24, 32, 40 and 48 signal inputs. There's only one variant per number of signal inputs, which greatly simplifies or optimizes the ordering process, stock-keeping and usability.
EES hereby offers the maximization of the classic indicator module with 96mm in height, available in 96mm width for 8 or 16 inputs, 192mm for 24 or 32 inputs and finally in 287mm width for 40 or 48 inputs. All features are on board as standard and can be customized in the simplest way. List prices have also been optimized for the new LAB 2.0 thanks to fully automated production.
EES also focused on energy consumption during development; in total, power consumption is only about 1 watt with 48 illuminated LEDs and activated signal relays.
The protection class of the device is now IP54 as standard, so that no further hood is required here to achieve a higher degree of protection.
Changeable LEDS
Standard colours green and red are exchangeable with other coloured LEDs
The LED display is the distinctive feature of the display module. After unscrewing the front panel, these can be exchanged by the customer for LEDs of a different color. There are 6 colors (red, yellow, blue, green, orange and white) available, so the exchange of single LEDs or whole rows can be done quickly according to the application. The LED colors are colored via lightpipes and can be purchased as accessories.
Drop-Flap Annunciator FSM
Consolidated parameterisable annunciator with permanent display
The compact drop-flap annunciator FSM 10 is designed in a housing for front panel mounting. It features 10 green drop-flaps with a LED each for display of the signals at issue. Independent from lighting situation, thus the alarms can be recognised in an optimal way at any time. During a power-failure, the last state of the display is permanently retained by the drop-flaps. Of course, all functions of the annunciator can be adapted to the respective application by means of DIP-switches and/or software.
Ultra fast optical fiber telecontrol system MFW
Point-to-point data transmission by optical fibre
This variant of the MFW modular telecontrol system was developed for data transmission on "singlemode" or "multimode" optical fibres. The telecontrol system always consists of 2 stations which transmit the respective data in point-to-point configuration. The use of optical fibres as transmission medium guarantees a robust, interference-free transmission over long distances, even in harsh, interference-contaminated environments.
In some cases, it is not the entire expandability of the system that is required, but a variant optimised for fast transmission. For such tasks (e.g., intertripping of railway substations), the MFW systems for the leased line and optical fibre transmission media have been optimised for the high transmission speed of a point-to-point connection. The parameterization of the system is carried out completely by DIP switches for easier handling.
The benefits at one glance:
Cycle time about or less than 10ms
Basic modules with 4 in- and outputs
Modular configuration for up to 32 stations or I/O modules
Long distance up to 60 km dependent on optical fiber type
Simple parameterization without software
Now even more powerful - the new BSM version 3.4
The BSM product family from EES is one of the most comprehensive fault annunciator series available on the market and is characterized by a large number of options that can be ordered to adapt the annunciator with up to 192 alarms to the respective tasks on site.
Further options and corresponding extensions have been added since last year:
Firstly, the number of function inputs will be doubled, from the previous 2 to 4 inputs, more functions can be triggered or parameterized. In addition, 2 horn priorities can now be assigned to the collective alarms, which can trigger a horn or a bell for important alarms, for example. These settings are either permanently assigned in the basic BSM-C version or can be freely parameterized in the BSM-P version.
The latest version 3.4 adds another highlight to the BSM fault annunciator, the self-generated signal voltage. In the field of energy technology, different voltage ranges are often used, which are supplied from different sources and therefore have different potentials. Redundant power supply units can already be used in the BSM fault annunciator for the actual operating voltage, covering AC or DC from 24-60V or 110-250V, for example, but the signal voltage may therefore lie outside the redundant voltage range.
The new “S” option for the self-generated signal voltage can now be ordered for this purpose, which provides a 24V DC supply for up to 48 signal inputs and the 4 named function inputs. In the event of redundancy, e.g. switching from primary 230V AC to secondary 60V DC, the BSM will be able to reliably display and process all alarms.
Finally, the parameterization program has also been adapted from version 3.4. In addition to a visual refresh, the labeling can now also be customized by allowing the font size and font per channel to be freely edited. This is particularly useful for longer labels. The new version automatically recognizes new and previous types and adjusts the parameterization options accordingly.
This further rounds off the BSM fault annunciator package and many of the extensions are available free of charge.
